EKS-WT

EKS is developing a new technology for treating municipal and industrial wastewaters and sludges. This new technology, the EKS – Wastewater Treatment (EKS-WT) process, is based on many of the innovations EKS has pioneered with the EKS-DT process.

The EKS-WT process comprises three unit processes that can be operated in series or used as stand-alone processes. These processes have the ability to produce high quality effluent and a final sludge product with a solids content of over 40% (wt/wt).

EKS is working in collaboration with the University of Guelph on a research program focused on the EKS-WT process. This research is scheduled for completion in the summer of 2018. Planning for field testing of prototypes of the three unit processes is currently underway and is scheduled to be completed in mid-2019. At that point, the technology will be ready for full-scale commercial applications.
